1-3-86 Saw "White Nights." Was a great movie. Baryshnicov - FINE! Saw "Rocky IV" also. Great movie! I luved it so much. Both are my favorite movies. 3-25-86 Shelley is over and it is 8:00. "Moonlighting" is starting. David & Maddie are cowing! They just got there 1st money & he put his hand on her butt! I luv Jon, as you know! We're gonna watch "Amadeus" later!! Neemo!! La, La! Ho hum, so this is so borring. Shelley is figged! Well, check ya later, book! 5-6-86 Haven't written in ages. Anyway, I'm still goin with Jon my babe! I luv him so much! Shell still going with Craig. Friday night we are going to Photon! It's gonna be such a blast! Today in reading we had to make up a Mother's Day Poem. Here's mine: M is for the Many times you have helped me so, O is for the Oranges, don't ask me why, I don't know, T is for the Talks that you have I have shared, H is for "Hello" that let's me know you care, E is for Elizabeth, the name you gave to me, R is for the roaches that you always call David to see! 5-28-86 School's out! Wow! This year went by SO fast! But that's probly because its been the best year ever! Tasha's party is in about 40 minutes and OF COURSE Mom won't let me go. Jon gave me tons of candy today: 1 pack candy cigeretts, peanut m-n-m's, red hots, starbursts, nerds, a MONGO kitcat and a pack of gum. I don't hate Jimbo anymore. 5-30-86 "Days" was so good today. But ugh! I hate Victor Curiocas. He is such an ass. He wants Kimber's baby but that's just too bad because Shane's the father and bitchy old Emma had to change the dumb test results so Victor thinks Andrew is his! Shawn moved out, Caroline's in fits, Kala's back, but Patch soon behind her. And to top off the happiness of the Brady's, Caroline is fixing to shoot somebody. Victor? Herself? Who knows. We'll just have to wait till Monday to find out. 6-9-86 Well, unfortunatly Victor Fartiocas didn't get shot. I was mad. So was everyone else in the world, probably. But at least Bo said he'd move in with good old Vic so now he might leave Andrew alone. Shelley left for camp on Friday and I am eagerly awaiting a letter from her. Bye. 6-21-86 At 2:15 me, Connie, Tasha, Elizabeth C., Rebecca, and Brooke are going to see "Karate Kid 2." I can't wait! 10-10-86 I love "The Greatest Love of All." I loved everything about fifth grade. I loved the people in my class. I miss everything. I think I am going to cry. I hate 6th grade! 10-25-86 I love "Love Story." When I grow up I'm going to give it to my kids to read. I've never felt this way before about a book. 3-23-87 I haven't written in SOOOO long! Oh my God! I saw "Stand By Me"! It was positively the best movie ever made. EVER! It was so special. I have 2 posters of River Phoenix (Chris) and one of Corey Feldman, who is yuck, but he wuz Teddy in "S.B.M." so it doesn't matter. Personally, I liked Gordey the best & his real name is Wil Wheaton but I have no posters of him yet and there was this really funny guy named Vern who always said "Sincerely" and liked cherry flavored pez and Oh! It was just so good! Aaaaah! I am absolutely about to die! I called "Star Video" and they have "S.B.M."! Dad's gonna COPY IT! I'm about to pass out! Well, I better go. I'll tell ya more about "S.B.M." later. I have to go find my missing library book! 3-24-87 Hiya Hiya! Whew. I just had a real scare. None of the vidio places had "S.B.M." in but I called Vidio Palace and they had it! Dad's picking it up later! Oh yeah. I've gotten 3 magazines now with pictures of "S.B.M." people & I'm ordering 3 more. Anyway, on the back of "16" magazine they had that Wil will be in the next issue and they have stuff on River AND Wil! It comes out April 7. I can't wait! 4-13-87 I have "Stand By Me"! I am dying! Shelley's over here. I now have 5 pics of R.P. and 2 of C.F. and 1 of W.W. Those are mag. page size. I have almost my whole bullitin board full of little pics of all of them. They're cute! On April 7 I got "16" magazine and on the back it says that the next issue will have behind the scene secrets of "S.B.M." I can't wait until May 5 when it comes out! 4-5-87 Did I ever tell you that me and Shelley might go to Hawaii and CALIFORNIA this summer? She invited me to go with her if her parents decide to go. FUN-NESS! We might even meet RIVER PHOENIX and WIL WHEATON! AAAAA! 8-9-87 Some people make me want to SHIT in my pants! Take my mom, for instance! Just because we're going to Fun Fair Park Tuesday, and I'm spending Friday night w/ Cecily, and I owe Courtney and Mary Eliz. a sleepover night, I can't go to Shelley's tonight. I say, what's the big DEAL! She says, too crampted. I say it's SUMMER! It's the last week of SUMMER!! We SHOULD cram everything in so we can do everything before seventh grade starts! Ugggh! Poo-bottoms!! I do not want to start school!! Ug!! Yucko. My life is horrible!! And shit my other diary and diary key have DISAPPEARED!!!

I typed the entries out as written, no corrections to spelling and punctuation (embarrassingly). I considered scanning them, but as the majority are written in pastel skinny marker, my writing implement of choice at ages 10 through 12, they are basically illegible to the untrained eye. It's lovely to see that my childhood "Days of Our Lives" obsession was in full bloom. On the first page of this diary are lists of "Things I Love" and "Things I Hate" a la Anastasia Krupnik, surely my inspiration. Apparently I loved "spegetti" and the World's Fair but hated AIDS and homemade vegetable soup. Coming soon: 8th grade! |
