Weekend Roundup

My weekend was flurry flurry go go go go go.

I got a lot of work done in my house while listening to a LOT of Lucinda Williams.

I'm in love with my new floors.

I put together my new desk all by myself.

I incorporated the squirting of a water bottle in what might prove to be a life-altering training device with Zuko in that it is the only thing that has ever made him sink to the ground in delicious cowering obedience if it's even waved in his direction with nary a squirt.

I went out for Thai food with H. and consumed the fried bananas with coconut ice cream (otherwise known as the best food on this earth).

I missed Janet's boob but am firmly convinced that it was no "accident."

I started reading Among Friends, sent by kind reader Marisa, and it is like sinking under warm blankets in my comfiest pajamas, that is how familiar it is to me.

I ate my mom's shrimp stew.

I magically fixed my scanner, and I scanned one of my favorite pictures of all time, taken at a Cochon de Lait in the Atchafalaya swamp at a party full of puppies that I was not being allowed to take home, noting how I was pouting so stubbornly that I refused to smile for the picture while my sister was amiable and game, probably just delighted to be imagining eating a bacon sandwich on white bread.

And my brother rocked the house at a sold-out show with one of his favorite bands. And I have to say, that's really the most exciting thing that happened this weekend.
